Cydia Substrate 0.9.5015 For iOS 8 8.1 Relsed

Last week we saw the Pangu8 untethered jailbrk for iOS 8 and 8.1 relsed. In order for this to work properly, Cydia author Saurik had to make some impromptu fixes to the Cydia Substrate. The new Pangu Untether 0.2 was rolled out yesterday and a for additional bugs have been addressed in a new version of Substrate. If you have jail your idevice on iOS 8 using Pangu, then this is a very necessary update as it fixes issues with booting, syncing, and other major challenges that the jailbrk community faced over the past week. A lot of jailbrkers presume that achieving an untethered jailbrk is as sy as simply installing Cydia on your device and then going ahd and installing twks. This is so not the case, as we have seen with the Pangu jailbrk for iOS 8 / 8.1. There are a of components that have to operate together and Cydia Substrate is fundamental to the entire process. Pangu's roll out of iOS 8 8.1.x Untether 0.2 yesterday exposed a of new bugs in Cydia Substrate and Saurik and his tm has rlly quickly come through with an update. The Cydia Substrate 0.9.5014 fixes a few bugs reported on iOS 8 with 0.9.5013, including apps do not install, iTunes does not sync, and icons are gone. This issue sometimes led to devices being unable to boot without disabling Substrate. Cydia Substrate 0.9.5014 is the main update even though Saurik has followed up with version 0.9.5015 with a fix for OpenSSH. What this all mns is that the new Pangu Untether and Cydia Substrate should work together now and it is recommended that anyone that has alrdy jail their iOS 8 device should go ahd and install both as quickly as possible. The Untether 0.2 package is available through the Pangu app, while Cydia Substrate 0.9.5015 is available on the Cydia/Telesphoreo repository. You can of course simply launch Cydia, tap on Changes and then upgrade. The issue with freezing on the reboot of a device that is lock using a Pass or Touch ID has yet to be rectified, so you will need to disable this fture for the time being. Pangu8 rlly is shaping up to be a grt jailbrk tool even with a couple of kinks still needing to be ironed out.
